Warminster Township's Five Ponds Golf Club, a public course in the Philadelphia suburbs of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was scheduled to break ground at midday on Tuesday, Oct. 27, on a $25 million, 27,000-square-foot clubhouse, according to Patch. The Board of Supervisors was hosting the ceremony. Chairman Ken Hayes, vice chairwoman Kathy Frescatore and representatives of Spirit Golf Management and The Sports Facilities Companies were expected to attend. No account of the ceremony had been published by Tuesday evening.

Spirit Golf Management, a division of The Sports Facilities Companies, manages the course. Patch reported in September that the building will include an event space for up to 250 guests for banquets, weddings and parties, a new bar and grill, a 1,400-square-foot pro shop, an indoor teaching studio with four golf simulators and private seating, and covered patios. Multiple kitchens will serve both the event space and the bar and grill. In its announcement, Spirit Golf Management said the studio is meant for recreational play, special events, advanced club fitting and year-round instruction led by PGA professionals.

The township's June bid release places the wedding and events space on the second floor, with the bar, restaurant area and patio on the first. Officials said they believe the project "will make the golf course an important asset for the community for the next fifty years." Kimmel Bogrette Architects of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, presented the two-story design to supervisors on Feb. 5, 2026, the Bucks County Herald reported, featuring a circular driveway that keeps golf carts out of the main parking lot. Frescatore said at that meeting, "It's absolutely beautiful. It's going to be wonderful for weddings and bat mitzvahs and showers, and we'll be making some additional revenue from it."

Hayes said in September, "This new clubhouse represents a major investment into the future of Five Ponds Golf Club and the community we proudly serve." In August, supervisors approved a $25 million, 20-year construction loan from the Delaware Valley Regional Finance Authority, and township officials said golf-course revenue, not tax revenue, will repay it.

Golf remains open during construction, Patch reported. Tee times, league play, instruction and player-development programs continue, and a temporary tented hospitality space with a bar and kitchen trailer will serve golfers, practice-range customers and outing groups. No opening date or construction schedule has been published, and the township and club have not named a general contractor.

The course has 18 holes with five water features, including a par-3 17th that plays over water, along with the Spirit Golf Academy and a junior program of more than 200 participants a year. The National Golf Course Owners Association named it East Region Course of the Year in 2025. The National Golf Foundation, as cited in Spirit's announcement, reports that municipally owned and operated courses are up 7 percent since 2006, and that nearly 3,000 municipal courses were operating at more than 2,600 facilities at the start of 2026, the highest totals on record.
