IronCrest held a September 9 ribbon-cutting at The Club at Iron Lake in Ocala, Florida, after Marion County recorded the Phase One final plat, and Altamira Development Company named seven homebuilders for the first lots. Brije Homes of Ocala closed the first lot last month and is first to break ground in the 661-acre gated community inside the tract Oculus R Golf LP bought in the January 2026 $63 million sale that rebranded Club Adena as The Club at Iron Lake and IronCrest.

The September 9 ceremony at The Club at Iron Lake followed the recording of the IronCrest Phase One final plat with Marion County earlier in the summer, and put the residential program in motion beside a clubhouse of about 37,000 square feet and an 18-hole course routed through spring-fed limestone quarries. The Ocala Metro Chamber & Economic Partnership joined homebuilders and community leaders at the club.

Altamira Development Company, the developer advancing the first residential offerings, named seven builders at the reception: ICI Homes, Davila Homes, Brije Homes, J. Drewes, Stentiford Construction, H & W Construction, and Center State Construction. Brije Homes, an Ocala custom builder and Marion County’s 2025 Builder of the Year, closed the first lot acquisition last month and is first to break ground. “We are very pleased to see the residential program launching and value the relationship we have developed with this diverse, highly talented group of homebuilders,” said Craig Phillips, principal and co-founder of Altamira.

ICI Homes, Davila Homes, and J. Drewes are entering Marion County luxury residential work at scale. ICI, based in Daytona Beach, is Florida’s largest privately owned homebuilder. Davila has a strong presence at Bella Collina. J. Drewes, based in Orlando, has completed more than 75 luxury homes. IronCrest itself is a 661-acre gated community inside the approximately 1,274-acre tract bought in January. The planned unit development was initially approved for up to 236 homesites, with a planned mix of townhomes, villas, estate residences, custom homes, and select homesites. The IronCrest Community Association has been established for future owners.

Twenty townhomes are under construction beside the clubhouse as luxury short-stay rentals with club access, aimed at the early stretch of the coming equestrian winter season. The club already operates dining, a spa, a pool, fitness rooms, tennis, and pickleball around the quarry course, the existing house and ground that the residential program is being built against. “This is a club-first community,” Elizabeth Phillips said when the plat work was announced. “The residential offering is being built around an experience that people can already understand and enjoy: the course, the clubhouse, the landscape and the everyday life of the club.”

The September announcement and the Phase 1 plat do not publish lot prices, membership fees, HOA dues, sold-homesite counts, or a clubhouse renovation. The work now underway is housing around a club already in use, the same property that changed hands in January and was renamed The Club at Iron Lake, a sequence familiar from other Florida golf development projects that sell homesites against an operating course. Further builder programs are described on the IronCrest site as still to come.
