Minthis Plans €6 Million Golf Course and Clubhouse Upgrade in Paphos, Cyprus
Minthis, a golf resort in Paphos, Cyprus, has announced a €6 million program covering a redesigned irrigation system, bunker renovations with a concrete liner and a clubhouse refit set for January to June 2027.
In Paphos, Cyprus, Minthis has announced a €6 million investment in its golf course and clubhouse, according to Cyprus Mail (Oct. 28). Paphos sits on the island of Cyprus in the eastern Mediterranean. Three elements form the program: a completely redesigned irrigation system, extensive bunker renovations and a series of clubhouse improvements.
A release from the resort, published by Cyprus Mail on Oct. 27, lists the aims as better playing conditions, better water management and upgraded facilities for members, guests and visitors. The program follows the addition of a TrackMan Range earlier in 2026.

Irritech designed the new irrigation system and Pro Golf Group installed it. The release says it was engineered for "wall-to-wall coverage" of the course. The system gives the agronomy team more precise control over how water is applied and substantially shortens the time needed to irrigate, with less disruption to play. Toro technology, including Infinity sprinklers, lets water be applied according to the needs of different areas, and a Grundfos acid injection system gives more control over the pH of the irrigation water. Minthis links the system to responsible water management, which it describes as part of its broader sustainability approach.
Bunker renovations rely on a capillary concrete liner system designed to improve drainage, stability and consistency so the bunkers perform more reliably through the year. The main phase of the clubhouse work is scheduled to run from January 2027 until June 2027 and includes a new sports bar, improvements to the clubhouse restaurant, a larger and more prominent pro shop with an expanded retail offering, and a new caddy master area. Another European resort, Tróia Golf in Portugal, is also pairing course and clubhouse work, rebuilding its clubhouse while RTJ II restores the Robert Trent Jones Sr. course, which is scheduled to reopen in March 2027. The release gives dates only for the clubhouse work and does not say when the irrigation and bunker work will be finished, how the €6 million is divided between the course and the clubhouse, or who is designing the clubhouse changes.
Demetris Ashiotis, managing director of Minthis, said: "This investment represents an important milestone in the continued evolution of Minthis." He added: "We are investing not only in the visible elements of the golf experience, but also in the infrastructure and technology that support the course for the long term."
The official Minthis golf club page describes the course as an 18-hole, par 72 layout of 5,902 meters, designed by Donald Steel in 1994 and later renovated by the course architects Mackenzie & Ebert. It winds past a 12th-century monastery with views of the Troodos Mountains, and the resort says the par-3 15th plays to the only island green in Cyprus. The course opened as Tsada Golf Club, which Mackenzie & Ebert calls the first course in Cyprus.
