Passaic County, NJ awarded Benard Associates Inc. a $6,190,000 contract on August 12, 2025, under resolution R-25-764, for Phase 1 of a new pre-engineered maintenance building at Preakness Valley Golf Course, the county-owned public 36-hole course in Wayne, New Jersey.

The course sits in Preakness Valley Park and is listed by the county as a public park facility. The Preakness Valley Golf Course site presents a municipal 36-hole layout, not a private membership house. The work now moving through county procurement is a maintenance building program. It is not a clubhouse reconstruction.

Phase 1 was bid C-25-017 on the county purchasing portal. The awarded solicitation describes demolition of existing sheds and the small and large maintenance structures, along with paving and utilities, then construction of a new pre-engineered maintenance building, new utilities, paving and parking, and site work.

Simpson Moynihan, the civil firm named on its Preakness Valley project page, lists site civil work for a maintenance facility and two new facility buildings on the existing grounds. That page frames demolition of site utilities and features, earthwork, and new utility connections. It does not publish a room program or a building square footage.

The county posted bid C-26-013, Preakness Valley Golf Course Maintenance Building Phase 2, on August 31, 2026. An aggregator mirror of the county notice lists sealed bids due September 25, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. ET, with substantial completion in 335 calendar days and final completion in 365 calendar days. No Phase 2 award amount has been published.

The county facility listing for the park course does not attach a rebuild budget for the maintenance buildings beyond the Phase 1 figure already on the portal. Bid packets and mirrors also omit unit prices, detailed specifications, and a Phase 2 contract sum. The spend belongs to municipal golf development capital on a public course.
