Cabot announces Cabot Wilds, a 2,500-acre golf and clubhouse resort near Oxford, Nova Scotia
Cabot has announced Cabot Wilds, a new 2,500-acre golf, lifestyle, and residential resort near Oxford, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, with John Bragg and his family. Hart Howerton is master-planning the campus around a Jeff Mingay riverfront eighteen and a clubhouse program aimed at late 2027.
Cabot has announced Cabot Wilds, a new 2,500-acre golf, lifestyle, and residential resort in Collingwood Corner near Oxford, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, on land shaped by the River Philip. The project is being developed with John Bragg and his family, founders of Oxford Frozen Foods and longtime Cabot investors, and will be developed and managed by Cabot. In a company release dated September 15, 2026, Ben Cowan-Dewar, Cabot's chief executive and co-founder, said the firm was "honoured to work with John Bragg and his family to bring Cabot Wilds to life and shine a light on this beautiful corner of Nova Scotia." The site sits about 90 minutes north of Halifax and about three and a half hours from Cabot Cape Breton.
Hart Howerton, the community master planner, is laying out the all-season campus, and the clubhouse that will sit over the eighteenth fairway is already the architectural center of the announcement. The program includes an indoor-outdoor restaurant and bar, a living room, a private dining room, a social lawn, a pro shop, and locker rooms. On-site dining is framed around seafood, seasonal produce, and local products. A recreation pavilion, racquet sports, and wellness and spa rooms with treatments, thermal therapies, and quieter spaces sit on the same plan, which is the building story rather than the routing.

Toronto-based architect Jeff Mingay is designing the 18-hole riverfront course. Golf Digest reports that the River Philip will be visible or in play on about nine holes of that layout, on ground previously used for farming and mining. Cabot says the property will enroll in Audubon International's Platinum Signature Sanctuary program, the same conservation track used at the company's other destinations. Residential product is a limited first release, not an open price list. Two-, four-, and eight-bedroom cottages are planned, along with home lots that look onto golf, hillside, or river ground. Cottage prices, lot prices, and clubhouse square footage have not been published.
The primary public target remains late 2027. Golf.com adds that preview play could begin as early as next summer; that line is not treated here as a 2026 opening. Like the cottage-and-clubhouse campus planned at Frontier Club near Ann Arbor, Michigan, Cabot Wilds pairs a Howerton-planned resort house with residential product, though on a much larger acreage: a Mingay river course, racquet and spa buildings, and a first slice of cottages. The announcement does not include a project budget, Bragg equity figures, an architect of record for the clubhouse beyond Howerton's master plan and renderings, or a street address.
