Meriwether Companies completes a roughly $50 million remake of La Valle Coastal Club, the former Morgan Run, in Rancho Santa Fe, California
Meriwether Companies has completed its remake of La Valle Coastal Club, the former Morgan Run in Rancho Santa Fe, California, at about $50 million. The debut centers on Gather California Kitchen, the Swing Suite, event space, and the 77-room Guesthouse Hotel.
La Valle Coastal Club in Rancho Santa Fe, California, is now open as Meriwether Companies' completed remake of the former Morgan Run Club & Resort, a property-wide project the firm's mid-September 2026 release puts at about $50 million. The club sits in Whispering Palms, a few miles from Del Mar. Meriwether bought the asset in July 2023 from Invited. Partner Dave Likins is the public voice on the work. Sculptor Real Estate sits on the larger capital stack.
The published dollar figure rose in stages. Early language put the budget near $25 million. Mid-project reporting from the San Diego Business Journal and related hotel coverage used $30 million to $35 million for the club and grounds, with a separate $15 million renovation of the on-site hotel. Meriwether's September 16, 2026 release and subsequent local accounts, including Hoodline, now describe a roughly $50 million completion. The firm has not published a line-item split that isolates the clubhouse from golf, racquet courts, wellness, and hotel.
The social core of the remake is the clubhouse program. Gather California Kitchen is the signature restaurant and gathering room, with remodeled bar, dining, and patio seating that look onto the golf ground. Oasis Café sits in the same hospitality stack. The Swing Suite is a low-light speakeasy with member liquor lockers and a Full Swing multi-sport simulator. Meriwether lists more than 17,000 square feet of private event space. San Diego firm Hannah Gabriel Wells is cited on the redesign. Verde Wellness Center, eight LED-lit tennis courts, 12 pickleball courts, two padel courts, and an indoor-outdoor bar at the pickleball courts sit on the same campus.

Guesthouse Hotel at La Valle is the 77-room on-site hotel, operated with Springboard Hospitality after the $15 million renovation. Registered hotel guests receive access to club amenities. Golf stays in the background of this house story. The club plays 27 holes across three nines, Olivos, Cedros, and Palmas, with a rebuilt practice complex that includes a 40-bay range, a 12,000-square-foot practice putting green, and a 5,000-square-foot social putting green next to the clubhouse. Meriwether's debut release calls the site 225 acres in the lede and 300 acres in the club description; earlier reporting used both figures. The documents do not reconcile the acreage.

The project is not Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club and is not The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe, whose approximately $14 million clubhouse renovation is a separate campus story. It also sits apart from the Ranch Clubhouse work of about $9.4 million at Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club. Those houses are member-club renovations without a 77-room hotel. The same clubhouses file also includes the phased house work at The Club at Ibis. La Valle's published materials do not include a standalone clubhouse square footage, a clubhouse-only budget, dues, or a named architect of record beyond the Hannah Gabriel Wells citation.
