Oldfield Golf Club is renovating its River Club and Golf Clubhouse in Okatie, South Carolina, as part of an approximately $8 million reinvestment in Club facilities. The private club sits inside the Oldfield community on the Okatie River, between Bluffton and Beaufort in the Lowcountry. First Call Golf, writing on September 15, 2026, listed both buildings as currently under renovation. Open coverage does not publish a finished date for either house.
Troon Privé, the private-club operating division of Troon, manages golf and agronomy at Oldfield along with the Equestrian Center, Sports Club, Outfitters Center, food and beverage, membership marketing, and the community association. The club's other named amenities sit beside the two houses now in construction. The First Call account treats the River Club and Golf Clubhouse as the clubhouse capital still under way, not as a finished unveiling. The club site at Oldfield frames the same Lowcountry campus.

The same release used a just-completed course project as proof that capital is moving on more than one front. Oldfield finished a $1.1 million bunker renovation on August 7, 2026, after construction started May 19. Members marked the return with a bunker re-open event on August 22. Southeastern Golf was the contractor. Norman Golf Course Design worked the project with support from Troon's Design and Development team. Director of Agronomy Thomas Davis managed the job, and Director of Golf Mark Reilly spoke for the club.
The bunker work installed EcoBunker stacked-sod faces on greenside bunkers and a Capillary Concrete and mesh hybrid system in the floors. Total bunker area was cut by nearly 50 percent from more than 114,000 square feet. Reilly said the aim was infrastructure and original architectural character, not only new sand. Davis said the smaller footprint and the drainage stack were built for Lowcountry rainfall.
The course itself is context. Greg Norman Golf Course Design routed it; the course opened in 2000 and is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The routing runs through live oaks, savannas, ponds, and the Okatie River marshes. That setting is why the club framed the bunker spend as stewardship of a mature property, not as the headline building story.
Elsewhere on the clubhouses desk, The Club at Olde Cypress in North Naples, Florida, has already brought a roughly $16 million renovation and expansion of an existing house fully online, and Audubon Country Club in Naples is in Phase 1 of an approximately $24 million multi-phase main-house campaign. Ansley Golf Club in Midtown Atlanta has delivered dining rooms while JC Chi leads the larger Ansley Forward campaign. Oldfield's published figure is smaller, and its two houses remain in progress.
What has not been published is a size, designer, builder, interior program, or opening date for the River Club or the Golf Clubhouse. The approximately $8 million line is the club's own facilities figure as carried by First Call. Until those details are released, the news is that both houses are under renovation while the bunker work is already back in play.
