The clubhouse at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania was designed in 1911 by Furness, Evans and Company. It still hides an 1824 stone farmhouse inside it, and a two-story locker room that has watched Bobby Jones finish the Grand Slam and Ben Hogan win the 1950 U.S. Open.

The Country Club's primrose yellow clubhouse in Brookline started as an 1860 farmhouse. Today it is three stories of Colonial Revival clapboard behind the 18th green, still holding a room from the original structure and a copy of the USGA charter signed in 1894.

Francis Ouimet's childhood home at 246 Clyde Street in Brookline sits directly across the road from The Country Club. In 1913, the 20-year-old amateur walked out the front door, crossed the street, and won the U.S. Open, changing American golf forever.

The Lighthouse at Harbour Town Golf Links is not a real lighthouse. Built in 1969 by developer Charles Fraser as the centerpiece of his Sea Pines marina village, locals called it Fraser's Folly. Today the candy-striped tower is the logo of Sea Pines and the backdrop of the RBC Heritage every April.
Clubhouses
The Harbour Town Clubhouse at The Sea Pines Resort was designed in 2014 by Grady Woods, a Lowcountry architect who raked bunkers at Harbour Town as a boy. Home of the RBC Heritage, the three-story Lowcountry clubhouse was demolished and rebuilt between tournaments in a 10-month construction sprint.
Clubhouses
Oakmont Country Club's clubhouse was designed in 1904 by Pittsburgh architect Edward Stotz as a Scottish farmhouse in Tudor Revival style. 120 years later it still has no air conditioning in the locker room.
Clubhouses
Seminole Golf Club's pink stucco clubhouse was designed in 1929 by Marion Sims Wyeth, the same architect who master planned Mar-a-Lago for the same client. Inside is the most copied locker room in American golf: 72 original knotty-pine lockers, unchanged since opening day.
Clubhouses
Most clubhouses try to complement their golf course. Congressional's overshadows it. Designed in 1924 by Philip Morison Jullien, this Spanish Revival building is the largest clubhouse in the United States. Barrel-tile roof, white stucco walls, and a vaulted entry hall visible from nearly every hole.
Clubhouses
In 1859, Dennis Redmond's farmhouse was featured in an architecture manual. His floor plans show a fruit room, a dairy, and an ice-house. No trophy room, and no Crow's Nest. Today that farmhouse hosts the Masters, and the best golfers in the world compete for a silver replica of it.
